Let Us Feast
Most of the time, we try to not use our blog as advertising. Today is an exception.
If you haven’t heard, we’re hosting a group show at WVTF called “Feast.” In the spirit of “Feast”-ing, NCAI has coordinated collaborative pairs to generate 11 pieces of exhibited works.
The 22 participating artists include: Avery Lawrence — Jesse Wells, Ashley Walton — Amanda Uhl, Barrie Humphries — Ellen Hathaway, Bernard Hankins — Malcolm Hughes, Cabell Cox — Kendall Cox, Mike Ryan — Lisa Ryan, Elizabeth Stehl — Matt Kleberg, Ellen Picker — Maureen Lovett, Hope Voelkel — Matt Pamer, Lena Zentgraf — Wade Bradshaw, and Natalie Race — Patrick Costello.
The range of representation includes Garage artists, Journey Group designers, WriterHouse members, Haven staff, a McGuffey representative, a UVA fifth year, a pastor, architects, students, musicians, professional gardeners, NCAI staff, and more! We’ve got stranger pairs, friend pairs, significant other pairs, and colleague pairs.
The usual time, place, and partners: Join New City Arts, NPR, WVTF, Radio IQ, Feast!, and Blenheim Vineyards on First Friday, November 5 from 5-7 PM. We hope you’ll make it out early, so that you can make it to The Haven at 6 PM for the beginning of the silent auction (where many of these artists will also have work on display. Generosity abounds!)
We couldn’t help but showcase the talent of all these folks. We’re also really interested to see what kind of work true collaboration turns out.
Be on the lookout for a mid-month, collaborative workshop between C’ville Foodscapes and The Grow Co. exploring creative entrepreneurship and responsible food.
If word of this event is making you hungry, we understand. Go here for all of next Friday’s info.
