Nat BaldwinDirty Projectors bassist– who is an otherwise accomplished songwriter in his own right. Arborea, hailing from Maine, makes sparse, ethereal psych-folk akin to peers like Espers. In the vein of fellow loop-based artists Dustin Wong and Mark McGuire, Matt Northrup makes gorgeous sound collages wielding only a guitar and pedals.

On Sunday, November 7 from 8-11:30 PM, join The Garage for Mountain Man, a Garage-sponsored show at Christ Episcopal Church. Tickets are $7 at the door.

According to Guardian, “Appalachian folk informs the sparse instrumentation, the complex harmonies and the lyrics, which also invoke black hills and Mississippi swells. The sound is austere but there are riches here, yielded over time.”

Christ’s Church is Mountain’s Man local stop on their East Coast tour, also featuring appearances at The 930 Club and Hammerstein Ballroom.
