The University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Sciences is presenting filmsby Kevin Everson’s advanced cinematography class. A First Fridays unveiling will occur outside Ruffin Hall, October 28th, at 6:30 pm.
The Digital Media Gallery is a space designed to present, explore and celebrate experimental film. It provides an educational and artistic experience that allows University of Virginia students to create and present new works to the general public, fostering the creative interaction of faculty, students and the Charlottesville community. The films range from digital to 16 millimeter format and are curated by faculty and students. In the past two years the gallery has become an integral part of The Virginia Film Festival attractions for community and student residents, as a space with films of professional quality. The gallery is a true art installation experience for advanced cinematography students. U.Va. Studio Arts professor and gallery curator Kevin Everson encourages such out-of-the classroom learning situations, “The interaction and dialogue the students received during the exhibition was equal to any museum exhibition.”
Projections up on Arts Grounds and the Downtown Mall from October 28 – November 6.
