At WriterHouse, from January 15th to February 29th, The Imaginary City will be on view, and the First Fridays gallery open house will occur on February 3rd, 5:00-7:00 pm.
The Imaginary City is a series of pen and ink drawings of
buildings, streets, and towns. The scenes recall European and
American cities of the nineteenth century and earlier, drawn freehand
and to scale.
The artist, Robert Boucheron, is an architect and freelance writer in
Charlottesville, VA. His work appears in 34th Parallel, Bloomsbury
Review, Cerise, Country Living, Echo, New England Review, Northern
Virginia, Parabola, Piedmont Virginian, Prime Number, CAAR Real Estate
Weekly, and Virginia Business.

WriterHouse presents a First Friday Festivity and Gallery Opening on December 2, 2011, featuring the works of artist and writer, Polly Lazaron. The exhibit, “Wind Dances Fire: Energy Drawings 2000-2010″ is a retrospective of 30 pioneering works on paper. Polly’s award winning work bridges visual art and subtle energy while offering balance to the viewer and the environment. 6:00 to 8:00 pm at WriterHouse, 508 Dale Avenue(behind the Bodo’s on Preston Ave). Plentiful free parking.

On April 1 from 5:30-7:30 PM, join Writerhouse for the First Friday opening of “Listen to the Stream” by Roberto and George Kamide.
This father and son duo created their collection “Listen to the Stream” by uniting the father’s extensive photography of streams and rivers with a haiku written by the son especially for each piece. The exhibit also includes a series of infrared photographs and nature themed mixed media pieces.
Writerhouse is located 508 Dale Avenue, behind Bodo’s on Preston Avenue. The opening will be catered by Ashley and Carter East/Dinner at Home Catering.
The exhibit is on display through April 30. WriterHouse open hours are Monday and Wednesday from 6-9pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-2pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm. All other times by appointment.

Through the end of September, some of Kendall Cox’s prints from her recent show at The Garage, “Life of a Gesture,” will be on exhibit at WriterHouse in Charlottesville (located behind the Preston Bodo’s, 508 Dale Avenue).
